Accountant

JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a competent, disciplined, and trustworthy Accountant to manage the financial records of our agribusiness operations, including farms, poultry, ranch, and other related business interests in Oyo. The role requires strong bookkeeping, cost control, payroll management, inventory tracking, and financial reporting skills. ⸻ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial & Bookkeeping • Maintain accurate books of accounts for all operations • Record daily, weekly, and monthly transactions • Track income, expenses, and cash flow • Reconcile bank statements and cash records Agribusiness & Ranch Accounting • Monitor farm, poultry, and ranch production costs • Track expenses related to feed, livestock, medication, labor, and equipment • Maintain inventory records for livestock, poultry, feed, and supplies • Support cost analysis and profitability assessment per unit or project Payroll & Expenses • Prepare staff payroll and allowances • Monitor staff advances and expense claims • Ensure proper documentation for all payments Reporting & Controls • Prepare monthly financial summaries and management reports • Assist with budgeting and financial planning • Ensure internal controls and financial discipline • Support tax filings and statutory obligations when required ⸻ REQUIREMENTS • HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Minimum of 2–4 years experience, preferably in: • Agribusiness • Poultry or livestock operations • SME accounting • Good knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles • Proficiency in Excel and basic accounting software • Ability to work with minimal supervision • High level of honesty, discipline, and attention to detail • Familiarity with rural business operations is an advantage
