Operational Oversight Support the Terminal Manager in supervising daily terminal activities. Ensure efficient handling, stacking, storage, and dispatch of containers or cargo. Monitor yard operations, including loading and unloading, gate movements, and container inspections. Staff Coordination Oversee terminal staff, equipment operators, and logistics personnel. Assist in shift planning, duty rosters, and performance evaluations. Provide on-the-job support and help resolve conflicts among team members. Documentation & Reporting Verify container documentation (EIR, booking references, etc.). Track container movement records and update internal systems. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, or monthly operational reports to senior management. Customer & Stakeholder Communication Act as a point of contact for clients, shipping lines, truckers, and agents. Resolve client issues or escalate major concerns to the Terminal Manager. Ensure timely updates and coordination regarding container status or delays. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with terminal safety rules and environmental standards. Monitor safe use of equipment and adherence to health and safety protocols. Support audits, inspections, and risk assessments. System & Inventory Management Use terminal operating systems (TOS) to manage inventory and monitor container positions. Assist in implementing new digital tools for better tracking and reporting. Triangulation & Container Utilization (Where Applicable) Coordinate empty container triangulation where containers are linked for export use. Track idle or pending containers and arrange timely linking or dispatch.
