An interview was conducted which was satisfactory and we offered the applicant an employment with an agreement on payment based in commission which he agreed to. We communicated a date for him to come and get an employment letter and contract which he accepted. However on Saturday, 15th of June he sent a message requesting for an advance /loan of 200,000 naira which he stated in this message “ I’ve been thinking about resuming this week which was agreed on. It may be difficult for me to be committed because I’ve been sustaining since 2020 lockdown with what I do at home. This has make it difficult for me to be committed to any label because I found myself vulnerable whenever i was call for personal job because the need is always there If I must resume wort this week and be committed and focus on the growth of the place,I’ll really need your help with some amount of money to sustain on till my first salary will be paid. The money can then be deducted from whatever I do(maybe twice), If not,I’ll like to work as a freelancer,meaning I’ll be there to work if am available. The truth is I really love to be part of the growth of the label as a full and committed employee ma’am. I found this message and request highly unprofessional and fraudulent and when we refused his request, he sent another message saying “ I’ll not be able to be committed because,I don’t have what it takes. That was why I opt to work as freelance tailor,meaning I can check on you every now and then if there’s any work i can do for you like a week, If I work with you with that arrangement,you’ll think am not reliable and I wouldn’t want to be seen that way. I also don’t want to be coming to be asking you for money every two days,be cause buying grain for consumption daily costs me 7-8k daily and I’ve sustained that over years by the grace of God. If continues that trend while working under you I’ll definitely be in and out Willy-nilly
