We are seeking a skilled Pattern Maker to bring our visionary designs to life with precision and artistry. Job Summary As a Pattern Maker, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and perfecting patterns for exclusive fashion collections. You will work closely with the design team, tailors, and production manager to ensure each garment fits perfectly and maintains our brand’s signature silhouette. Your expertise in draping, grading, and construction techniques will be crucial in transforming conceptual sketches into high-quality, wearable fashion pieces. Key Responsibilities ✅ Pattern Development: • Create precise manual and digital patterns based on designer sketches and specifications. • Adjust patterns to fit different sizes, body shapes, and design variations. • Ensure each pattern aligns with Afro-futuristic aesthetics, bold silhouettes, and intricate details. ✅ Fabric & Construction Considerations: • Analyze fabric types and their behavior to optimize garment structure and movement. • Work closely with the design team to recommend seam placements, darts, pleats, and embellishments. • Create patterns that accommodate fringe detailing, structured elements, cut-outs, and intricate embellishments. ✅ Sampling & Prototyping: • Collaborate with sample makers and tailors to test and refine garment patterns. • Make necessary alterations based on fit sessions and feedback. • Ensure patterns are production-ready and scalable for limited-edition drops. ✅ Technical Documentation: • Develop detailed tech packs that include pattern specifications, seam allowances, and construction notes. • Maintain accurate records of all pattern modifications and iterations. ✅ Innovation & Quality Control: • Stay updated on fashion trends, pattern-making software, and industry techniques. • Implement creative pattern manipulations that align with the brand’s futuristic luxury aesthetic. • Ensure all patterns meet high-end craftsmanship and quality standards. Qualifications & Skills - Experience: Minimum 2- 5 years as a Pattern Maker in luxury or high-end fashion. - Technical Expertise: Proficiency in manual pattern drafting. CAD software (e.g., Gerber, CLO3D, Optitex, Lectra) preferred but not compulsory. - Fabric Knowledge: Strong understanding of fabric draping, grainlines, and garment construction. - Attention to Detail: Ability to translate intricate designs into flawless patterns. - Creativity & Problem-Solving: Must be able to experiment with unconventional silhouettes and structural elements. - Collaboration: Experience working with designers, tailors, and production teams. - Strong Time Management: Ability to work within deadlines and handle multiple projects at once. Preferred Experience • Experience working with RTW, evening wear, couture, or Afro-futuristic fashion brands. • Knowledge of 3D pattern development for experimental and sculptural garments. • Ability to work with non-traditional materials like metallic fabrics, neoprene, and structured textiles.
