What is Quality?

Quality may define as the level of acceptance of goods or services. It is a relative term. It completely depends on customer satisfaction. Actually product quality is based on product attribute. In textile and apparel industry, quality is calculated in terms of quality and standard of fibers, yarns, fabric construction, color fastness, designs and the final finished garments. Quality is very important in apparel business. Customers demand and expect is the supreme importance in garment business because of clothing trends become change with short time period. There are various factors on which quality fitness of apparel industry is based such as – performance, reliability, durability, visual and perceived quality of the garment To maintain and control the quality, the quality control department in apparel industry divides the work into different stages of manufacturing, which are categorized into three major groups such as pre-production unit, cutting audit and sewing unit.

What is quality control?

is an inspection before the merchandise are shipped to the store or customer from the factory and is done when at least 60-80% of the order has been produced to be sorted. This process helps to detect any defects and reduces the risk of complaints from customers.

Job description:

Develop and implement a process quality measurement and recording quality.

Monitor the quality of the product through the various stages of production.

Devise ways to improve the manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality goods

Keep accurate documentation and prepare quality assurance reports

Set requirements for all materials from suppliers and monitor their compliance

Audit all inward fabric and trims and ensure that only top quality materials are accepted.

Prepare audit report of the fabric and trims quality.

Ensure that no faulty fabric is sent for cutting

Ensure that all samples in the sampling stage meet the quality aspects of samples

Oversee product development procedures to identify any deviations from quality standards

Perform in-line inspection and end-of-line inspection on the sewing floor.

Perform inline inspection, pre-final audit and final inspection in finishing department.

Implement preventive and remedial measures against occurrence of defects

Prepare a quality manual for the company and ensure that quality policies & procedures are known to all and implemented at all levels

Establish guidelines for production and preparatory processes to get right first-time quality from each process.

Train the newly hired quality personnel on company quality policies and how to use quality tools.

Inspect the final outputs from the luxury and production lines comparing it to the requirements and approve or reject the final products

Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

Previous experience in production or manufacturing is compulsory

Knowledge of process improvement practices, tools & techniques

Strong knowledge of mathematics, data analysis, and statistical methods

Strong observational and listening skills

Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Strong analytical and pragmatic problem-solving skills

Organization and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills

Strong interpersonal skills
