The Seamstress / Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for producing high-quality garments by accurately cutting, sewing, assembling, and finishing clothing items according to design specifications and production standards. The role requires precision, speed, and strict adherence to quality control guidelines to ensure consistency and excellence in garment production. Key Responsibilities Sewing & Production Duties Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines efficiently Sew garments according to patterns, measurements, and design instructions Assemble garment components accurately (bodice, sleeves, collars, hems, etc.) Maintain consistent stitching quality and finishing standards Meet daily and weekly production targets Handle fabrics carefully to avoid damage or wastage Follow approved production methods and sewing techniques Quality Control Responsibilities Ensure finished garments meet company quality standards Check measurements, stitching, finishing, and overall garment appearance Identify and correct sewing errors before garments proceed to the next stage Work closely with quality control personnel to reduce defects and rework Maintain uniform sizing and fit across production batches Equipment & Workplace Management Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations Carry out basic machine care and report faults promptly Use tools and equipment safely and responsibly Adhere strictly to workplace safety rules Collaboration & Conduct Work collaboratively with cutters, pressers, and finishing staff Follow production schedules and instructions from supervisors Maintain professional conduct and punctuality at work Respect company policies, procedures, and code of conduct
