Job Title: Contract Pattern Drafter Location: On-site Contract Type: Freelance / Contract-Based Industry: Fashion / Apparel / Textiles Duration: Project based Compensation: Based on experience and scope of work Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pattern Drafter to support our design and production team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate has experience creating accurate digital and/or manual patterns for various garment types, understands fit and construction, and can translate design concepts into precise production-ready patterns. Key Responsibilities: Draft, modify, and finalize garment patterns based on design sketches, technical specifications, and fit requirements. Collaborate with designers, technical developers, and sample makers to ensure proper fit, construction, and fabric usage. Create accurate pattern specifications, including seam allowances, grainlines, and notches. Adjust and grade patterns for different sizes as needed. Ensure patterns meet brand standards, production feasibility, and quality expectations. Convert hand-drafted patterns to digital formats (if applicable). Maintain organized records of pattern files and revisions. Requirements: Proven experience as a Pattern Drafter in the fashion or apparel industry. Proficient in pattern-making software (e.g., Gerber, Optitex, Lectra, Clo3D, or Adobe Illustrator) or manual drafting techniques. Strong understanding of garment construction, textiles, and sizing/grading standards. Ability to interpret design sketches and technical packs accurately. Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements. Strong communication and time management skills. Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with both men’s and women’s apparel. Knowledge of CAD software and 3D pattern simulation. Familiarity with sustainable design and fabric usage optimization.
