BARISTAS Reports to: Operations Manager Department: Food & Beverage Role Overview: The Barista is responsible for delivering an exceptional Café experience that aligns with the 143 Fitness brand; one that is warm, sophisticated, and grounded in wellness. This role goes beyond serving coffee; it involves creating moments of calm, care, and quality for our members and guests. You will prepare and present a range of premium beverages, maintain a spotless and organized Café space, and ensure that every guest interaction feels personal and effortless. You will also act as an ambassador of the 143 culture, attentive, informed, and consistent in upholding the brand’s aesthetic and service standards. Key Responsibilities: Guest Experience & Service • Deliver a consistently warm, welcoming, and professional service experience to all guests. • Anticipate guest needs, from offering menu guidance to remembering member preferences. • Engage guests in friendly and informed conversations about beverage options, nutritional benefits, and Café offerings. • Maintain composure and positivity during busy hours, ensuring guests always feel prioritized. Beverage Preparation & Presentation • Prepare and serve premium-quality coffee, tea, smoothies, juices, and wellness drinks in accordance with brand recipes and standards. • Ensure accuracy and consistency in flavor, presentation, and temperature across all menu items. • Demonstrate proficiency in coffee brewing methods and latte art techniques. • Support the development and introduction of new seasonal or wellness-based beverage items in collaboration with management. Café Maintenance & Operations • Maintain exceptional cleanliness across all Café areas, including counters, equipment, utensils, and storage. • Perform daily opening and closing procedures, including restocking, sanitization, and setup. • Monitor ingredient levels, track stock usage, and report replenishment needs to the Operations Manager. • Adhere to hygiene, health, and safety protocols, including food handling, cleaning, and waste disposal standards. • Support smooth coordination between the Café and other departments (Arena, Front Desk, Sauna) to ensure a seamless guest experience. Brand Representation & Collaboration • Embody the 143 Fitness values of excellence, community, and mindfulness in daily interactions. • Uphold the brand’s aesthetic by ensuring Café displays, packaging, and service presentation are visually aligned with 143 standards. • Support brand activations, collaborations, and wellness events as needed. • Provide feedback on menu items and guest preferences to inform menu innovation and service improvement. Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a Barista in a high-end Café, boutique hotel, or wellness space. • Strong knowledge of coffee brewing, espresso extraction, milk texturing, and beverage hygiene standards. • Familiarity with wellness-focused beverages (juices, smoothies, protein blends, teas, etc.) is a plus. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect authentically with guests. • High attention to detail and a strong sense of organization and aesthetics. • Calm under pressure, reliable, organized, and proactive. • Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and special events. • Passionate about wellness, hospitality, and elevating everyday moments.
