*Job Description* Human Resources (HR) Officer Location: Lagos, Nigeria Employment Type: Full-Time *About Kredit Africa* Kredit Africa is a fast-growing fintech company committed to providing accessible financial solutions that empower SME businesses. Position Summary We are seeking a proactive, organized, people-focused Human Resources Officer to oversee the company's HR operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, policy implementation, compliance, and administrative HR functions while fostering a positive and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies. Source, screen, and shortlist qualified candidates. Coordinate interviews with hiring managers. Conduct reference and background checks where required. Prepare employment offers and onboarding documentation. Maintain an up-to-date recruitment pipeline and candidate database. Employee Onboarding & Offboarding Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees. Ensure all employment documentation is completed accurately. Facilitate orientation sessions for new hires. Manage employee exit processes, including exit interviews and clearance procedures. Employee Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR-related concerns. Foster a positive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives. Resolve workplace conflicts professionally and confidentially. Promote adherence to company values and policies. Performance Management Coordinate KPI implementation and performance review processes. Monitor employee performance and follow up on improvement plans. Work closely with department heads to ensure performance objectives are achieved. Maintain performance records and reporting. HR Operations & Administration Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases. Prepare employment letters, confirmation letters, disciplinary notices, and other HR documentation. Ensure proper documentation and filing of employee information. Monitor employee attendance, leave, and disciplinary records. Policy & Compliance Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and company policies. Review and recommend updates to HR policies and procedures. Ensure proper implementation of disciplinary procedures. Maintain confidentiality of employee information at all times. Learning & Development Identify employee training needs. Coordinate internal and external training sessions. Monitor employee development plans. Support initiatives that improve employee productivity and career growth. HR Reporting Generate weekly and monthly HR reports. Track recruitment metrics and employee turnover. Monitor HR KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field. 2–4 years of relevant HR experience. Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent) is an added advantage. Experience in recruitment and performance management is highly desirable. Required Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities High level of integrity and confidentiality Knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Excellent report-writing and documentation skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
